Thanks to a patented self calibration device, the gauge is automatically self-calibrated at each scan, consequently eliminating the need for periodic re-calibration. At every scan the measure of the object is automatically compared to that of a known reference sample inserted in the laser gauge itself; in this way the instrument is automatically calibrated and any medium- or long-term measuring drift is virtually avoided.
