The
part or the product being measured must be clean (Aeroel can supply an extensive range of cleaning
accessories)
In
"hostile environments" the gauge must be protected
against contamination (air compressed windows or heat shields must be used)
A
laser system can be more expensive than a touch or an air
probe (his depends upon application: sometimes it can even
be less expensive, as special fixtures and part handling are
no longer required)
Sometimes
touch probes are still the only possibility (to measure inside diameters or to check parts in-process,
on grinding machines)
