THE NEW CALUMET MINI-EXHAUST SYSTEMS REMOVE EXTRUSION FUMES AND IMPROVE THE WORKING ENVIRONMENT.

In some extrusion processes and when the laser gauge is installed near the extrusion head, the fumes from hot plastic can interfere with diameter measurement. Moreover, what is more serious, some types of plastic emit fumes that, when reacting with the water in the air, form a solid film that settles on all exposed surfaces and there is no solvent that is able to remove it. In the long run the optical lenses of the laser gauge become opaque, making it impossible for the instrument to work. The usual suction hoods are normally too far away from the gauge to guarantee effective suction of the fumes before they surround the gauge.

The Calumet mini-exhaust systems, available in various models, are installed near the gauge and exhaust the extrusion fumes with great effectiveness before they can reach the gauge, thereby ensuring that the instrument remains clean. The Calumet mini-exhaust systems are compressed air operated and function thanks to the Venturi effect, by conveying all the fumes towards the normal suction hood.

A "side effect" that is beneficial and cannot be overlooked is the improved working environment and the worker's health !
